{"id":16949,"date":"2015-02-06T16:11:47","date_gmt":"2015-02-06T15:11:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.damianzimmermann.de\/blog\/?p=16949"},"modified":"2023-01-05T17:22:44","modified_gmt":"2023-01-05T16:22:44","slug":"larry-sultan-im-kunstmuseum-bonn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.damianzimmermann.de\/blog\/larry-sultan-im-kunstmuseum-bonn\/","title":{"rendered":"Larry Sultan im Kunstmuseum Bonn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\">Der Amerikaner <strong>Larry Sultan<\/strong> (1946-2009) ist Fotografie-Fans in Deutschland am ehesten durch seine Serie &#8222;The Valley&#8220; ein Begriff. 2004 als Buch erschienen zeigt er uns darin seinen Blick auf Pornodreharbeiten im San Fernando Valley nordwestlich von Los Angeles. Vielleicht kennt man auch noch seine Serie &#8222;Evidence&#8220;, f\u00fcr die er gemeinsam mit seinem Kollegen <strong>Mike Mandel<\/strong> zwei Jahre lang zwei Millionen Fotos in 77 Archiven unterschiedlichster Institute, Beh\u00f6rden und Firmen gesichtet hat und aus denen sie schlie\u00dflich 59 ausgew\u00e4hlt haben. Damit geh\u00f6rten sie 1977 zu den Vorreitern der <span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201e<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Appropriation Art\u201c und haben gleichzeitig den Begriff der Dokumentarfotografie massiv in Frage gestellt &#8211; durch die Isolierung und Dekontextualisierung verlieren die Fotografien ihre Beweiskraft und geben stattdessen neue R\u00e4tsel auf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Das <strong>Kunstmuseum Bonn<\/strong> widmet Larry Sultan nun nach eigener Aussage die erste museale Retrospektive in Europa.
