{"id":16275,"date":"2014-09-08T22:43:27","date_gmt":"2014-09-08T20:43:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.damianzimmermann.de\/blog\/?p=16275"},"modified":"2019-03-24T14:22:49","modified_gmt":"2019-03-24T13:22:49","slug":"an-american-odyssey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.damianzimmermann.de\/blog\/an-american-odyssey\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8222;An American Odyssey&#8220;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Der pr\u00e4chtige und m\u00e4chtig schwere Bildband &#8222;An American Odyssey&#8220; (Taschen, 612 Seiten, 150 Euro) zeigt eine Auswahl an farbigen Fotochromen und Phostint-Postkarten aus der Privatsammlung <strong>Marc Walters<\/strong>, die zwischen 1888 und 1924 von der Detroit Photographic Company produziert wurden. Der Betrachter wird mitgenommen auf eine Zeitreise zur\u00fcck zu den gro\u00dfen Entdeckungen und Abenteuer in Nordamerika von der Ost- bis zur Westk\u00fcste \u2013 und all das in Farbe.<\/p>\n<p>Allerdings mit einer Einschr\u00e4nkung, denn die Fotochrome waren keine \u201eechten\u201c Farbfotos wie die sp\u00e4teren Autochrome. Ihnen lag immer ein Schwarzwei\u00df-Bild zur Grundlage, das im Flachdruckverfahren als Farbfoto interpretiert wurde. Zudem f\u00fchrte der Druck auch zu Ungenauigkeiten und Unsch\u00e4rfen, so dass die hin und wieder eingestreuten Schwarzwei\u00df-Fotos jener Zeit deutlich \u201erealistischer\u201c erscheinen \u2013 auch wenn ihnen die Farbe fehlt. Der Faszination f\u00fcr diese uns durch Kino und Fernsehen sehr vertraute und doch vollkommen fremde Welt tut dies jedoch keinen Abbruch.<\/p>\n<p>Link: <a
