{"id":14251,"date":"2013-10-30T21:32:26","date_gmt":"2013-10-30T20:32:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.damianzimmermann.de\/blog\/?p=14251"},"modified":"2019-03-24T17:41:35","modified_gmt":"2019-03-24T16:41:35","slug":"gunkanjima-von-marchandmeffre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.damianzimmermann.de\/blog\/gunkanjima-von-marchandmeffre\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8222;Gunkanjima&#8220; von Marchand\/Meffre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\">Das Fotografenduo <span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\"><strong>Yves Marchand<\/strong> und <strong>Romain Meffre<\/strong> hat wieder zugeschlagen: Nach ihrem umwerfenden Buch &#8222;The Ruins of Detroit&#8220; haben sie sich nun mit Ruinen ganz anderer Art auseinandergesetzt: D<\/span>ie japanische Insel Hashima wird i<span style=\"font-size: small;\">hrer Silhouette wegen <\/span>auch Gunkanjima, also Kriegsschiff-Insel, genannt. Passender w\u00e4re jedoch Totenschiff-Insel, denn an dem skurrilen Ort lebt seit 40 Jahren kein Mensch mehr. Dabei geh\u00f6rte Hashima wegen seiner Kohlemine einmal zu den dichtbesiedelsten Orten der Welt: In den 1950er Jahren lebten mehr als 5000 Menschen auf der nur sechs Hektar gro\u00dfen Fl\u00e4che. Als die Mine schloss, verlie\u00dfen sie jedoch fluchtartig die Insel und lie\u00dfen viele private Gegenst\u00e4nde zur\u00fcck.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Die Bilder, die das Duo Marchand und Meffre von diesem d\u00fcsteren, halb verfallenen Ort mitgebracht haben, sind eindrucksvoll und verst\u00f6rend. Dabei wandern sie durchaus auf einem schmalen Grad &#8211; schlie\u00dflich liegt das sogenannte &#8222;Urban Exploration&#8220; aktuell schwer im Trend. Ich kann mit diesem meist inspirationslosen Geknipse von verlassenen Orten wenig anfangen. Marchand und Meffre fotografieren jedoch mehr als blo\u00df Staub und Dreck, sondern blicken auf einen v\u00f6llig in Vergessenheit geratenen Ort, der bereits zu Lebzeiten skurril war und nun als Art begehbares Denkmal einer ganzen industriellen Epoche gesehen werden kann &#8211; und letztlich auch als Zeichen f\u00fcr den Umgang des Menschen mit seinen Ressourcen und seiner Geschichte. &#8222;Gunkanjima&#8220; ist im <strong>Steidl Verlag<\/strong> erschienen, hat 80 Seiten und kostet 65 Euro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Und noch ein kleines Schmankerl zum Schluss: Googelt doch mal nach <span style=\"font-size: small;\">Gunkanjima &#8211;
